Abbylane Cattery is owned
by Larry and Elaine Fry. It is registered with the Cat Fanciers'
Association, Inc., which is the largest registry of Pedigreed cats in
the world.
CFA Our cattery number is 158896 and was first registered in 1994.
We have been showing cats since 1992 when we got our first Aby, a kitten
we named Chrisland King Tutankhamon. Tut was also our first Grand Premier.
Since then we have had a string of cats attain the status of Grand
Champion, Grand Premier, Regional Winner and Best Aby in Region as well as Best
of Color in Region. We are located in Brownsboro, Alabama which is in
the Northern part of the state near Huntsville. The only breed we work
with is the Abyssinian.
Abyssinian Breed Profile
Each year we have only a
limited number of kittens available. Check the kitten gallery to see
what we have at this time. We also have retired cats that we have
retired from our breeding and showing program. See these cats in our
retired friends gallery. If you wish to contact the cattery directly

Our policy on kittens is that they will not
leave our home until they are spayed or neutered. There are no
exceptions. We do this at 16 weeks for a male and 18 weeks for a female.
Our vet uses isoflurane gas as an anesthetic and will only perform the
operation at the aforementioned ages. This causes a minimum of stress on
the kitten and they are soon up and about playing and doing kitten
things. One of the advantages of kittens at this age are that they have
their shots, are well socialized, we can guarantee the health (any
problems would show up prior to that age) and are ready at that time to
leave their mother and go to a new home. See our
Sales Contract.
Our retired friends are
well socialized and love to be held and played with at any time. They
will do well mostly in homes where they are the only cat or there is
only one other cat. We prefer that retired friends do NOT go to homes
where dogs are present. In our experience, kittens and puppies can be
raised together and will mostly do well. Even then as the dog gets older
and bigger occasionally a problem will develop.
